We are in search of a creative, adaptable and impact-driven Product Designer to join our team, reporting to the Head of Product.

Role:

The Product Designer will work closely with the Product team to solve difficult workflow challenges by determining the objectives and constraints of the design brief. This will require a deep understanding of Teach Starter’s target market and customer needs to contribute to the roadmap that drives adoption and utilisation of Teach Starter’s offering.

This role will collaborate with a small and nimble cross-functional working team (including UX, SEO, Product Marketing and Engineering) to optimise existing product experiences while also identifying, validating and delivering new value to market. This is a pivotal new role with ample opportunity to influence product strategy and contribute to the company’s growth and scale.

Responsibilities:

• Identify user requirements and create simple, innovative and data driven solutions to solve complex scenarios.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing and Engineering teams to help improve the user experience, identifying opportunities to improve Teach Starters offerings to be more useful, valuable, usable, findable, accessible, desirable and credible.
• Participate in product research and incorporate the research into design activities.
• Cultivate deep empathy for our customers’ pain points and needs to understand how users engage with the product. Use insights to make better decisions, and drive meaningful outcomes for the business.
• Formulate design concepts (including visualisation i.e. diagrams, illustrations, models) and execute plans for implementing product features.
• Own the end to end design process from ideation, research, wireframing and prototyping.
• Establish design processes and develop best practices whilst helping maintain the high-quality design standards we set as a team.
• Document designs & specification effectively so solutions are easy to follow and understand, cultivating a user-centric culture.

Your Experience & Capabilities:

• 3+ years’ experience designing products from research through to delivery and implementation.
• Expertise in design thinking, human-centred design, and UX/UI design.
• Strong stakeholder management partnering with Product Managers, UI/UX designers, and engineering to engage and articulate the design process.
• Demonstrated understanding of digital customer experience principles, particularly within digital subscription products.
• Experience with design visualisation collaboration and design tools such as Adobe Xd, Sketch or Figma.
• Advanced understanding and application of product discovery and agile software development methodologies.
• Strong communication, storytelling, and visual presentation skills.
• Exceptional project management skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to work autonomously, lead projects, own initiatives and get the job done!
