We are in search of a creative thinking, impact-driven, ‘for-the-teacher,’ Curriculum Specialist – Resource Producer to join our Resources team, reporting to the Global Resource Manager. We have a small office in Austin, Texas if that’s your preferred location, alternatively, we are just as supportive to remote working.

About the role:

The Curriculum Specialist – Resource Producer will curate Teach Starter’s resource library to make it comprehensive, consistent, and coveted by teachers in the US and beyond. They will develop a deep understanding of teachers’ needs, analyze resource gaps internally and within the competitive landscape, improve the existing library, and identify production needs. As part of a wider team of graphic designers, copywriters, and fellow resource producers, they will commission resources for production and create custom offerings in-house.

This role provides an opportunity to positively and meaningfully impact the lives of teachers by providing them with the teaching tools that get the job done! The main focus for the role will be to:

• Contribute to the creation of a robust and relevant resource collection by curating, updating, editing, refreshing, publishing/republishing resources sourced internally or externally and making suggestions for the collection’s continued development
• Produce new resources by using current understandings, standard file formats, and style guides while working within, and adapting, established resource production processes
• Develop new resource ideas and concepts within established production parameters e.g, teacher needs, seasonal events, and curriculum
• Write and publish supplemental content to explain resource purpose and function in order to drive SEO traffic to resources
• Follow and suggest improvements to defined workflows, processes, and practices to efficiently coordinate resource production and publishing
• Maintain industry knowledge through participation in and identification of professional development opportunities to ensure Teach Starter resources are current, relevant, and useful to teachers
• Work collaboratively within the wider resource production team, and other working groups as assigned, to ensure the continued function, form, and performance of Teach Starter’s resources.

About you:

• 5+ years elementary classroom teaching experience
• Working knowledge of state curricula and Common Core State Standards
• Exceptional English language skills and excellent proofing and editing skills
• Strong organization and time management skills
• The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively

• Experience working in grades K-6 would be helpful
• Creative content writing experience would be an advantage.
