The University Relations Specialist will play a key role in TE Connectivity’s Talent Attraction strategy by supporting our program which attracts students and early talent to our organization.
This role will be responsible for executing the strategy for a scalable and successful University Relations Program, which includes the recruitment and onboarding process, as well as the summer internship cycle and co-op rotations. This role will also leverage existing and new partnerships with universities to attract early talent into long term careers with TE.
You will facilitate summer long programs and ensure an exceptional experience for talent. This will be accomplished by cultivating relationships with partner universities, supporting our inclusive and diverse culture, creating partnerships with hiring managers within the business segments and supporting our high-touch onboarding process. This role has an opportunity to make a significant impact on the business and our early career programs.
Partner with University Relations Manager and Talent Delivery Team to build relationships with key business stakeholders to manage and execute TE Connectivity’s University Relations strategy across all segments.
Support stakeholder accountability of requisition submission processes for all internship and co-op positions throughout the organization.
Manage the logistics of campus recruiting events in conjunction with our external partners, including:
Job postings
Campus recruiting event schedule
Planning and coordinating resources (including enlisting volunteers and ensuring appropriate coverage)
Represent TE Connectivity at both virtual and in-person events as needed, including campus career fairs, info sessions, workshops and diversity related events to support the branding of TE Connectivity as a preferred employer.
Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, educational institutions, and partner organizations.
Partner with University Relations Manager to support the execution of the Summer Intern Program:
Overall program and project management
Facilitate orientation and organize networking sessions, mentoring programs, senior leader speakers and social events
Administer performance reviews
Distribute program experience surveys to participants and managers
Develop communication strategy to enhance relationships with key university partners (career services, faculty, student groups, alumni)
Support University Relations and Talent Attraction team with developing presentations, reports, Intern Conversion Tracking and other KPIs to measure ROI and program success.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, marketing, business administration or related field.
3+ years previous experience in university recruiting/relations, talent acquisition or human resources within a professional or corporate setting.
Experience with applicant tracking systems, preferably SAP Success Factors, as well as with Microsoft Office software.
Proven organization and prioritization skills with the ability to deliver high quality work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced university recruiting cycle or high-volume recruiting capacity.
Solid interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain internal/external relationships while effectively communicating with different individuals and audiences with various backgrounds and levels of experience.
Ability to travel to in person events up to 50% and to work evenings to support events during peak recruitment season, as needed.
The University Relations Specialist must have experience with effective talent acquisition practices and early talent programs that delivery strong talent to our business. Including:
Talent Attraction Experience:
Prior experience in a corporate university relations program, specifically where engineering and supply chain have been a focus.
Understands the overall hiring process and what it takes to run a successful university relations campaigns, including focused targeting, messaging and how to communicate results.
A passion to tell employer stories derived from new products, people, and opportunities to develop an early talent career pipeline and create a positive candidate experience.
Previous experience supporting Inclusion and Diversity Recruiting efforts (familiarity with diverse organizations such as NSBE, SWE, NABA, etc.).
Relationship Management Skills:
History of success in networking and identifying key campus relationships to proactively engage top talent.
Experience in successfully partnering with vendors in the talent acquisition space as well as an RPO provider, OR willingness to work as a team with our RPO partner.
Collaborative and energetic with the ability to build consensus and influence in a matrixed environment.
Planning & Event Coordination:
Demonstrated experience as project coordinator for medium to large complex projects, activities and events, demonstrating planning, prioritizing and organizing skills.
The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative while driving consistency and efficiencies, with a keen eye for detail, plus an appreciation for organization and communication.
