RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the conversion of students through the admissions funnel within assigned academic areas. The counselor will give special attention to the amount of time a prospective student is in each part of the funnel, and work to bring resolution to the student’s status in a timely manner. The counselor has primary responsibility for helping students transition through the funnel, from in-process status to enrollment. This is accomplished through:
Maintaining an intentional recruitment relationship with prospective students through phone calls, text messaging, notes/letters, social media and emails. For the purpose of accomplishing:
Solicit additional information about applied students to better determine a prospective student’s fit to the institution. (ongoing conversational interviewing)
Assisting students in completing their application file.
Leverage the visit program to increase the ‘funnel success’ of students within the assigned area. This includes the following:
Encourage prospects to visit the university (maintain an acceptable ratio of visits to apply within the recruitment area).
Ensure the quality and effectiveness of the visit experience for students within the recruitment area. iii. Use on-campus experience to encourage students to move to the next stage of the recruitment funnel.
Leverage other university resources to engage prospective students throughout the recruitment process:
Creating and maintaining a network of volunteers utilizing alumni, parents, current students and friends of Taylor which represent the assigned academic area.
Connects prospective students to appropriate Taylor contacts (i.e. faculty) throughout the recruitment process.
Support Admissions relationship with the assigned academic area, while supporting assigned area in achieving its recruitment goals:
Creating a personal communication plan and a school-specific newsletter.
Develop expertise to share information regarding assigned academic area
Develop relationships with faculty and staff within assigned academic area
Communicate admissions priorities to assigned academic area.
Manage a portfolio of feeder schools and churches – presenting Taylor to interested students, their guidance counselors and youth pastors.
Develop relationships with guidance personnel, pastors, alumni and parents with associations to assigned feeder schools and churches.
General expectations for the position:
Supervise and train a counselor assistant.
Successfully use a CRM to track contacts with your prospective student pool and manage your recruiting area.
When necessary, travel to college fairs and conventions to increase recognition of Taylor.
Serve as a representative for your students in meetings pertaining to scholarships, visit events, recruiting efforts and travel.
Conduct prospective student interviews meetings, completing evaluations of interviewed students.
Prepare presentations to give in various settings speaking to prospective students.
Learn as much as you can about Taylor University to offer the best information and assistance to the families you are working to recruit.
Assist in evaluating applications for admission and in the decision-making process.
Attend professional development seminars as available.
Develop student staff members through interactions in the office professionally, personally and spiritually.
Report regularly to supervisor on all completed tasks. Provide insight and recommendations regarding admissions programs and procedures.
The responsibilities of this position require the person in the position to be reached for basic support services to the office and prospective families outside of work hours.
Complete special projects and other assignments as requested by the Director of Recruitment and Analytics

Initiates and maintains contact with faculty, staff, administrators and current Taylor students.
Initiates and maintains contact with alumni, parents and friends of Taylor.
External Relationships
Initiates and maintains communication with school guidance personnel.
Initiates and maintains communication with selected church pastors and youth leaders.
Develops positive relations with prospective students and parents.
Develops positive relations with Admissions personnel from other colleges and universities.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors or another advanced degree in STEM field
Preference is given to Taylor graduate
START DATE June 1, 2022
