Tayco Hiring for Wood Products Assembler at Toronto, ON Full Time

Tayco is currently looking for a full time and ambitious Wood Products Assembler to join our dynamic team and help us reach a new vision. The Wood Products Assembler works as a valuable member of our Afternoon Team to ensure we are assembling high quality product that meets our customer’s needs.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Assemble and or sub assemble laterals, file cabinets, storage units, hutches, bookcases, desks and credenzas in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
• Transport finished goods to holding areas using pump trucks.
• Affix hardware (drawer slides, hinges, locks, handles etc.) in accordance with SOP’s.
• Maintain a safe work environment and good housekeeping standard in keeping with Health and Safety Standards.
• Complies with all company health and safety policies and procedures at all times. Without limitation, wears Personal Protective Equipment at all times in accordance with Tayco’s policies.
• Maintains a clean and well-organized work area; works in conjunction with afternoon shift employees to do so.
• Works overtime as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned from time to time at the discretion of management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No previous work experience – recommended exposure to a manufacturing environment.
• Is able to operate hand tools (drills, saw, pneumatic guns, etc.)
• Is able to understand, speak, read and write English. Must be able to understand verbal and written work instructions, which are typically routine, as accuracy and attention to detail is necessary. In addition, must be able to speak, read and understand health and safety procedures, document work, train others, problem solve in teams, learn new work processes and participate in continuous learning and weekly team meetings
• Is able to work independently or as a part of a team.
• Complies with all company health and safety policies and procedures at all times. Wears Personal Protective Equipment at all times in accordance with Tayco’s policies.
• Is able to lift materials up to 50 pounds and to carry, move, manipulate and/or position them and to move, bend, twist or maintaining awkward body positions while performing work.

• Hours: 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
• Pay Rate: $18.10 per hour. Additional $1.00 per hour shift premium for afternoon shift.
