The successful Executive Vice President Sales (“EVP”) will continue to build a top-notch sales department capable of driving exponential, profitable growth for this emerging branded, better-for-you food manufacturer. The EVP’s objectives are to drive new customer penetration, deepen presence in current customers, increase the unit velocity of all items and optimize spending.

This brand is a rapidly growing $100MM breakthrough brand sold to leading retailers nationally including Food, Mass, and Club Stores. It has garnered impressive customer loyalty leading to robust repeat sales and channel expansion.

What You Will Do

The EVP will be a key member of the Executive Management team and will lead the sales effort for Confidential across current and future channels.

• By channel and customer, setting aggressive sales goals, strategies, plans, budgets and timelines with specific accountabilities and then meeting or exceeding those targets;
• Using customer and other data, developing KPI’s to monitor performance against plan on an ongoing basis. Using the KPI’s to actively manage the salesforce and the brokers to drive performance;
• Working with the Director of Analytics, continually monitoring performance and recommending any changes in strategy or plans to senior management on a monthly basis;
• Evaluating the current sales force and recommending the appropriate structure and personnel requirements and, once agreed to, then executing that plan;
• Continually evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of trade spending and looking for ways to optimize the impact and level of spending;
• Leading the development of new markets, consumer targets and channels for current and new product lines;
• Developing top-to-top relationships with key customers and brokers;
• Contributing to the new product development process and, working closely with marketing, to execute effective product launches;
• Monitoring market changes and competitors’ new product launches and programs. ing changes or trends which may require shifts in the Company’s strategy or approach. Crafting appropriate responses regarding sales promotions or other strategies;
• Serving as an enthusiastic steward and advocate for growing brand equity.
• Working with the Director of Marketing to coordinate strategic sales plans with marketing programs;
• Working with the Director of Analytics to develop persuasive, fact-based sales analyses and presentations;

What You Will Need

• The ideal candidate for the EVP position will be a highly accomplished senior sales person who has sold a lifestyle consumer packaged brand to both retailers and distributors.
• From a management perspective, the EVP will have already led a national sales force and have had experience setting expectations, motivating and monitoring the performance of an existing sales force and, where appropriate, upgrading personnel.
• The EVP will also have had experience managing brokers. Culinary, as well as technical training.
• The EVP will have a “roll-up your sleeves” approach necessary in a fast-growing company.
• The EVP will be passionate about our Brands, have an upbeat “can do” attitude, be a superb motivator and mentor and be an excellent communicator.
