The Talent Acquisition and Development team is a brand new team within Tata Steel UK’s HR function that prides itself on being a fun and exciting place to work as well as delivering for it’s stakeholders. The team is an ideal place to gain an understanding of the role some of the key HR policies and processes play in a large organisation as we are responsible for the recruitment of all roles from apprentices to graduates to Senior Leadership roles as well as the performance development processes such as objectives, succession, potential and performance and development programmes. We onboard, develop and move employees throughout the organisation.
Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, one of the key roles within the team is the Talent Acquisition/Resourcing Consultant of which there are 4 positions. You will also work closely with the Talent Development Manager and our HR Shared Service Centre who support the team with the transactional activity
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fun, fast-paced team where you will get to work with a variety of roles across all of our UK locations. One role is focussed on the recruitment of graduates, placements and apprentices and the other on internal roles and high volume external blue collar roles
It is a centralised function based in Port Talbot, South Wales covering our UK operations. Within this role, you will partner with our Hiring Managers to ensure we secure the best possible talent to fulfil a wide scope of opportunities. You will be supported by an administration service from our HR Shared service centre so that you can concentrate on using external sourcing channels such as Linkedin, job boards and other direct sourcing methods as well as liaising with schools colleges and Universities to attract the skills, experience, knowledge and potential we need
The service you will provide is supported by a robust process, policy and system (Success Factors) which aims to provide the best service to our candidates and managers. The job adverts you create will be inclusive, attractive and well written and advertised in the most appropriate places.
We focus on continuously improving our service and the experience of our stakeholders and as well as managing the end to end process, we run a number of initiatives such as corporate induction, interview training and career events
Within the role, you will provide a full, 360 recruitment service across our UK businesses achieved by building and maintain relationships with key internal customers (HR Business Partners and, where agreed, business teams) in order to gain a full understanding of business requirements to deliver against quantitative and qualitative requirements such as cost, quality and time to hire and which sourcing methods deliver the best return on investment
The Candidate
In order to be considered for this role, applicants will have significant Recruitment experience either in-house or agency. For one of the roles, experience of the early careers market is advantageous and for the other, engineering and/or manufacturing. An effective communicator in both written and spoken English, you will need to be confident and articulate in your conversations with stakeholders and have the initiative to think outside the box and not be afraid to try new things.
