The Paediatric Unit North West Regional Hospital (NWRH)
The Paediatric Unit at the NWRH provides facilities for acute inpatient services in the North Western Region of Tasmania. It is a Level 2/3 Paediatric Unit that has formal links with higher level paediatric services within our tertiary referral centres at both RHH (Hobart) and RCH (Melbourne)
The unit provides acute and chronic inpatient services for infants, children, and young people up to the age of 18 years. This includes general surgery, medical and mental health care for these age groups. All children and adolescents with medical, surgical, and mental health issues are admitted to the unit where they have access to wide range of services provided by an interdisciplinary network of staff. These include social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, CAMHS, and speech pathologists.
Our nursing team is led by the Nurse Unit Manager and a senior leadership group. This group is inclusive of a Clinical Nurse Educator and several Associate Nurse Unit Managers (ANUM – RN Grade 5). Multiple staff hold post graduate qualifications in paediatrics and there are many opportunities provided for ongoing professional development. We are also able to support transition to practice (graduate) nurses and Advance Practice Program (APP) nurses, and undergraduate nursing students
Details of Appointment
Permanent part time day work position working 16 hours per fortnight commencing ASAP.
Salary: $58, 652 – $63, 154 per annum (pro rata) + 10% superannuation + access to salary packaging
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
