Hours per fortnight

73.50 (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Period of Appointment

For 2 years.

Duties

The purpose of the role is to:

• Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the accounting section and undertake complex accounting tasks for example financial reporting requirements including financial statements and taxation reporting;
• Maintain and develop policies, procedures and systems to support internal controls, taxation compliance and external financial reporting for the Department;
• Provide specialist advice, analysis and support to senior managers and staff on aspects relating to internal controls, taxation compliance and external financial reporting; and
• Maintain effective relationships with Business Units and external stakeholders.

Essential Requirements

• As a result of a risk assessment process the Head of Agency gave consideration to where vaccination is a necessary control to protect the health and safety of workers and the community and therefore it has been determined that prior to appointment to these duties a person to is to provide evidence that they are vaccinated against the disease known as COVID-19.
• The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. The following check is to be conducted:
  • Conviction check for Crimes involving Dishonesty.

Desirable Requirements

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
• A member or eligible for membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia or CPA Australia or other professional accounting body.
