Duties

This position is responsible for providing high-level and cross-functional leadership and advice to the Department in relation to information and cyber security, leading information security compliance work to meet required standards and regulations, and maintaining or evolving information and cyber security controls so that they align with the risk posture of the Department.

In the context of the selection criteria, to be successful in the position applicants will have:

  • demonstrated high-level leadership and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and provide credible advice at a senior executive level;
  • high level knowledge and experience in operating and maintaining an ISMS and performing security risk assessments;
  • demonstrated capacity to develop and implement effective security policies, processes, practices and standards; and
  • demonstrated knowledge and experience in relation to information and technology services such as infrastructure, software, networks and cloud services, including a strong technical understanding in developing and implementing risk based approaches to improving the cybersecurity of these services.

Highly Desirable Requirements

Completion or partial completion of relevant tertiary or industry qualifications, and/or professional affiliation.
