Overview

We are looking for an organised, detail-oriented, impact-driven individual to join us at Targeted Provision as an Intern in the Schools Team, helping us to put in place personalised support for vulnerable young people across the UK.

This internship will run from January to April 2022 with potential to become a full time role. The role will be predominantly remote with some training and optional days in our office in Queen’s Park, London. Fully remote working is a possibility for the right candidate.

We work with schools, local authorities and care homes around the country to provide targeted, holistic education to the young people who need it most and who far too often slip through the cracks.

Role Description:

As an Intern in the Schools Team you will coordinate specialist tuition for young people across the UK. A large portion of this support will be put in place as part of the National Tutoring Programme, designed to support young people particularly affected by COVID-19 school closures. The team will receive referrals from schools and it will be your responsibility to process all the necessary information and upload it to our system before organising the logistics to find the best possible tutor to provide support for that young person.

High Level Tasks:

• Managing and implementing tuition requests

• Ensuring a young person’s needs are being met

• Monitor ongoing tuition

• Liaising with our network of tutors

• Advising on the best support offers

• Liaising with schools

• Admin based tasks including monitoring multiple inboxes

• Monitoring tutor quality

Experience Required:

• The role is fast paced and requires strong multi tasking and organisational ability, as well as high levels of empathy and interpersonal skills.

• IT literacy and experience managing a busy inbox / calendars and multiple deadlines is a must.

• Our perfect candidate would have demonstrable experience working in a similarly fast paced environment, as well as a personal passion for impact driven work.

• A knowledge and understanding of the education landscape in the U.K is desirable but not required, however, a drive to help young people is a fundamental requirement of this role.

Other requirements include:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• An up to date enhanced DBS (we can help you obtain this if needed)

• 2 professional references

Desired:

• Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding in education

• Experience working for schools

• Knowledge of special education needs

• Experience in delivering excellent customer service

Contract length: 3 months

Salary: £22,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
