Tantus Technologies, Inc. (Tantus) – recognized by the Washington Post as a Top Workplace – is seeking a Project Control Analyst who works as part of the corporate Support Office supporting the Delivery and Finance organizations and is responsible for managing financial operations including: project/program budgeting, financial reporting, variance and profitability analysis; disseminating best practices within these spheres. The Project Control Analyst focuses on improving efficiencies in financial operations by working closely with the Controller, COO, Directors, and Program and Project Managers (PMs) to promote a culture of profitability improvement at all levels of the company.

What You’ll Do

• Support PMs in developing and maintaining Spend Plans and providing financial data for their monthly program status review (PSR).
• As required, support client presentations for contract reviews.
• Identify project/program profitability improvement levers and supports PMs in implementing these improvements.
• Serves as a resource for senior management and PMs on pricing, profitability improvement, and efficient contract and financial management.
• Work with the Finance Department to ensure that monthly program/project financial reports occur in a timely manner, provides regular forecasts to Finance, and performs QA on reports and invoices to assure the accuracy of financial data.
• Consult with senior management and PMs monthly to monitor the delivery of financial reports, improve program/project profitability, and resolve issues related to profit, data accuracy, utilization, aging AR, etc.
• Support PMs with financial analyses focusing on profitability improvement measures.
• Support recruiting efforts by providing salary ranges for potential delivery resource candidates & by setting cost rates for sub-contractors/1099s based on bill rates, market conditions, and the long-term sustainability of the cost structure.
• Conduct training sessions for delivery teams on project financial concepts and the basics of improving project profitability.
• Serve as a resource for Finance by developing strategies that maximize profitability.
• Coordinate with Contracts Department to ensure accuracy of contract funding and provides analyzes/forecasts on future funding available for contract support.

Must Haves

• 5-8 years’ experience managing program/project financials on federal contracts.
• BS degree in finance or related field.
• Experienced in managing financials for T&M, FFP, and cost-plus engagements.
• Experience with large contracts that have multiple CLIN and revenue types.
• Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Advanced skills in Excel are essential.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
• Must be organized, detail oriented, motivated and able to multitask in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the capability to communicate with Directors, Executives, and potentially clients.
• Independent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Creative, team player, flexible and customer oriented.
