About the Opportunity:

We are looking for a skilled Operator 2 to set up, maintain and operate production machinery at our Saco, ME facility. A great Operator 2 is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that production procedures are carried out safely and effectively to maximize equipment uptime and product quality.

The role will be an opportunity to be a part of a fast paced environment with autonomy to help assist with the scaling of a large manufacturing facility. The role will require effective communication skills and the ability to adapt to an ever changing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Operate production machinery as prescribed by the equipment manufacturer and company procedures
● Monitor system operation and document production parameters and results
● Train Employees on standard operating procedures and how to operate equipment safely
● Be the first in line to answer employee questions and troubleshoot issues
● Interface with system controls to optimize product yield and quality
● Detecting and ing defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
● Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and following prescribed safety regulations
● Performing prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the maintenance schedule.

● Remaining familiar with the basic machine functions in order to troubleshoot issues and work with the maintenance Technician to provide updates.
● Accepting and receiving frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up
● Work with the Process and Product Engineer to ensure equipment is calibrated to run the recipe for parts
● Assist Material Handlers with end-of-line procedures and operations
● Prepare pulp by cutting and weighing need amounts to be added to the pulping machine
● Operate and add raw material to the pulper
● Operate die cutting machine
● Assist with adding raw material to the pulper
● Assist with tooling change over, cleaning, and preparation for storage
● Performing other work-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

● High school diploma or GED required
● Minimum one-year factory related experience
● Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
● Must be able to read and interpret drawings, use simple math, and use basic hand-held measuring tools
● Must be able to lift and/or push and pull up to 50 pounds
● Must be able to stand for most of the shift on a concrete floor

Work Schedule:

● Day shift (7am-7pm)
● 12 Hour Shift
● 2-3-2 Model

Pay: $23.00 – $24.00 per hour
