About the Role

We are seeking a Sr. Software Developer for a project providing informatics and technical services to support a broad range of workforce productivity suite applications which includes SharePoint and other collaboration initiatives at CDC. The Sr. Software Developer will support CDC in MS Workforce Productivity Suite, including SharePoint implementation.

Responsibilities

• Support client implementation and administration of Microsoft Workplace Productivity suite solutions.
• Support the administration and maintenance of the client SharePoint site collections.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance SharePoint sites in support of client program needs.
• Develop and maintain workflows as part of the SharePoint implementation.
• Enhance SharePoint sites using other technologies to meet program needs and requirements.
• Provide technical assistance in support of technology refreshes, SharePoint upgrades, and infrastructure enhancements.
• Identify, document, analyze and track business requirements.
• Support electronic collaboration, data visualization, and workflow automation tools and their administration for client.
• Facilitate the dissemination of information within the Divisions and Branches within the Center and with other Centers and Programs throughout the Agency.
• Provide IT technical expertise to program personnel on SharePoint and other applications within the Microsoft Workplace productivity suite, when required.
• Provide Section 508 support for workforce productivity suite/ SharePoint solutions.
• Create and maintain proper technical documentation.
• Provide user support and training as it pertains to SharePoint implementation.
• Facilitate, document, and assist with tracking and monitoring compliance with CDC Enterprise Systems Life Cycle (EPLC) Framework, and security policies and procedures.
• Provide a Quality Control Plan highlighting methods to be used for identifying and preventing issues in the quality of service performed.
• All code enhancements will be checked into Microsoft Team Foundation Server, or CDC selected software for source code management.
• All work will be completed according to standards and policies published by CDC, HHS, or other federal agency. Project developers are required to work as a team.

. Requirements:

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Experience supporting client implementation and administration of Microsoft Workplace Productivity suite solutions.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing SharePoint sites in support of client program needs.
• Experience providing Section 508 support for workforce productivity suite/ SharePoint solutions.
• Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
• Advanced experience with quality frameworks such as SDLC, Agile, ITIL, Six Sigma, etc.
• Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem solving with strong decision-making capabilities.
• Self-driven; cool under time pressure and flexible.
• Ability to work simultaneous projects with aggressive timelines.
• Anticipates and communicates issues and risks in a timely way.
• Ability to address a diverse set of stakeholders and meet the challenging work requirements of CDC.
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations to senior stakeholders.

• Ability to interpret and evaluate client informational needs and to determine appropriate alternative solutions.

Education and Training

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related field required.
• Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift 25 pounds regularly.
