The Foundations of Food preparation & service Instructor will be responsible for teaching 6 different modules (Food service essential, Food preparation and culinary skills, Menu development and Kitchen Management, Fundamentals of wine, beer and spirits, Occupational health and safety & Catering ) based on a set curriculum, providing students with feedback on their class assignments, arrange appropriate guest speakers and field trips, and will keep accurate and timely records of marks and attendance in the school’s records management system.

Qualifications

• University degree related to the field of instruction.
• At least 5 years of successful relevant experience.
• Experience with teaching adults.
• Experience with teaching/working with diverse audience.
• Teaching certificate will be an asset.
• Excellent oral and written communication in English, other languages are an asset.
• Preferred: Located in the Whistler/Squamish/Pemberton area

Schedule:

• Work schedule can be discussed at the time of the interview to try and find an optimized schedule but in general:
• Full-time option: Administrative tasks and Teaching hours. Monday – Friday: 08:45 – 5pm (30 minutes lunch break each day).
• Part-time option:  Teaching hours. Monday – Thursday: 8:45am – 2:15pm (30 minutes lunch break each day).
