Job Brief:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance and Admin Support Consultant to support our Senior financial consultant in various accounting, payroll, and administrative tasks. This is a part-time role, and we welcome fresh graduates to apply, as training will be provided. As a Finance and Admin Support Consultant, you will be responsible for assisting with processing fortnightly and monthly payrolls and invoices using Astute Payroll and XERO. Additionally, you will help interpret modern awards and build rates and rules in the payroll systems, while adhering to strict timelines. You will be involved in collecting and processing timesheets, managing payroll for employees, and ensuring accurate records are maintained in Astute Payroll.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support with general administrative duties such as managing calendars and other office management tasks.
• Preparing communications on behalf of a manager.
• Answering phone calls.
• Organising travel and itineraries.
• Organising and planning meetings.
• Taking notes and writing minutes during meetings.
• Conducting or preparing any research that the ing manager may require.
• Various ad hoc requests.
• Assist in processing fortnightly and monthly payrolls and invoices using Astute Payroll and XERO.
• Help collect and process timesheets, verifying the accuracy of recorded hours and managers’ approvals on Astute Payroll.
• Assist in entering new employees and maintaining employee records, ensuring timely updates for wage and salary changes.
• Support the administration and processing of superannuation contributions, payroll tax, long service leave, workers’ compensation, and other payroll liabilities.
• Aid in preparing and finalizing lodgments for PAYG Tax, BAS, IAS, and Payroll Tax, including Annual Payroll Tax Reconciliation.

The Must-Haves:

• A self-starter, proactive, and motivated individual.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Excel, Outlook, Word, and similar technologies and tools.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with DocuSign or a similar tool for seamless contract signing.
• Basic understanding of fair work requirements and award interpretation.
• Familiarity with relevant legislation surrounding Superannuation, Payroll Taxes, and BAS/GST.
• Ability to support in generating employment contracts and managing long service leave entitlements.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Note: This position is tailored for a Junior Financial Assistant who will work closely with our financial consultant. While 1 year of experience is preferred, we are open to considering recent graduates or individuals with limited experience but possessing the required skills and eagerness to learn.
