Tailscale Hiring for Software Engineer: Growth at Toronto, ON Full Time

You will work as part of the engineering team to:
Develop the Tailscale product, contributing to frontend code and backend services.

Bring a special focus on reaching new users and iterating quickly to grow the user base.

Because we’re an early-stage and fully remote company, we’re looking for a motivated individual who can help move the product forward. The ability to think on your feet collaborate with highly technical teams, and comfort working asynchronously are essential.

Responsibilities and Duties

As many Growth projects revolve around users’ direct interactions with the service and user-facing components, familiarity with frontend development in React+Typescript is of immediate relevance. This will not be the sole focus of the role and there will be opportunities to work across the codebase.

Much of the rest of the product and supporting systems are implemented in Go. Previous experience with #golang makes ramping up much quicker.

Familiarity working with analytics pipelines like Google Analytics and Segment events will be important. You should be comfortable handling cohorts of users who experience different experiments, and be able to determine next steps in the product based on data.

Familiarity with developing features amenable to experimentation through, for example, A/B testing.

Ability to give and process constructive feedback, as well as work independently

Flexibility to adjust to the dynamic nature of a startup

Take a holistic view of the product, from a customer, needs to client applications to the admin console
