The What

As Accounts Payable Assistant you will have a diverse and varied role. Here are just some of the things you’ll be getting involved with:

• Maintaining accounts payable files and records
• Processing supplier invoices
• Reconciling supplier invoices and statements
• Correspondence with suppliers around discrepancies and payment dates
• Investigating discrepancies with agents & clients
• Updating the Accounts Payable payment spreadsheet
• Assisting with supplier payments
• Assisting other members of finance team

As Accounts Payable Assistant there are several credentials and attributes which would be advantageous, but a determined attitude and willingness to learn, are equally important.

• Certificate or diploma in accounting, business management or related field OR In lieu of education, equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting/accounts payable role
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain a strong working relationship with colleagues, clients and suppliers
• Consistent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
• An appetite to learn, develop and progress
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Data Entry Management
• Problem solver with a calm and considered approach under pressure

The Where and When

This is a full-time role 37.5 hours per week based in our Sydney office. Since March 2020 we have operated a flexible, hybrid approach to working and will continue to do this moving forward. We will work with you to find the best mix of office and home working that suits your life and the needs of the team.

You will report into the Management Accountant/Financial Accountant, who is based in Sydney.
