TAFE NSW is looking for creative and motivated individuals with current industry knowledge and experience in Hair or Beauty to join our team of Education Support Officers on a casual basis. These roles are located at multiple campuses in the west region – Orange, Tamworth and Dubbo, Armidale Inverell and Lithgow.
The Role
The Education Support Officer is supervised by the Head Teacher and works under the direction of a teacher as appropriate. The role is responsible for a range of activities, which supports learners and enhances the student learning experience and educative processes. We are looking to create a suitability list to draw on for casual opportunities as they arise.
Reporting to the Head Teacher, this position:
Note: This role does not teach or prepare lessons or resources and does not deliver training nor undertake assessment.
We would love to hear from you if you can meet the following essential requirements:
1. Certificate III in Hairdressing and/or Certificate III in Beauty Therapy
2. Ability to understand the content of the learning materials and the processes used in the discipline.
3. High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to be proactive and show initiative and ability to explain ideas in a clear and concise manner
4. Commitment and ability to support learning in an adult environment and a demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage students
5. Ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and to provide quality customer service as part of a broader team
6. Skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies
