TAFE NSW Hiring for Education Support Officer – Visual Arts Job at Sydney Full Time

TAFE NSW is looking for creative and motivated individuals with current industry knowledge and experience in Fine Arts/Visual Arts to join our team of Education Support Officers on a casual basis.

The Role

The Education Support Officer is supervised by the Teacher- in-Charge or Head Teacher and works under the direction of a teacher as appropriate. The role is responsible for a range of activities, which supports learners and enhances the student learning experience and educative processes. We are looking to create a suitability list to draw on for casual opportunities as they arise.

Reporting to the Head Teacher, this position:

• Supports Teachers and Head Teachers in meeting compliance functions for TAFE NSW
• Provides support to students to carry out tasks and understand their learning materials and concepts
• Follows up with students to encourage ongoing engagement and motivate and encourage the students to complete their tasks and activities
• Supplements the teaching activities by providing follow-up instruction as provided by the teacher and opportunities to practice skills

Note: This role does not teach or prepare lessons or resources and does not deliver training nor undertake assessment.

We would love to hear from you if you can meet the following essential requirements:

1. Qualifications at Diploma level in any discipline of Visual Arts PLUS 3 year’s industry experience.

2. Ability to understand the content of the learning materials and the processes used in the discipline.

3. High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to be proactive and show initiative and ability to explain ideas in a clear and concise manner

4. Commitment and ability to support learning in an adult environment and a demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage students

5. Ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and to provide quality customer service as part of a broader team

6. Skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies
