About the role:

This position is primarily located at our Bairnsdale campus, with some travel between campuses required and an option for flexible work arrangements. The HR Advisor has a strong recruitment focus with the opportunity to develop into a true generalist role. This role is key to developing fresh recruitment strategies to deliver success in hard to recruit for positions, leading continued attraction of quality candidates, , driving retention strategies, embedding the Institute’s cultureand values and providing exceptional support to all employees and leaders across TAFE Gippsland.

About you:

Your excellent communication skills and ability to influence and negotiate to ensure desired outcomes are met will be the key to your success. You have strong organisational, administration and interpersonal skills with the ability to network both within the Institute and with external stakeholders. You also have the ability to be objective, fair and transparent with a high degree of integrity. Experience working within the TAFE sector is highly desirable.

Education and experience:

• Relevant degree or diploma with relevant experience, or lesser formal qualifications with substantial (5 or more years) relevant experience
• Experience with computerised HRIS/Payroll systems
• Ability to engage with and build stakeholder relationships and collaborate across business areas
• A thorough understanding of the Fair Work Act, Agreements and Awards, and other employment legislation and processes

Mandatory requirements

Successful applicants must have a minimum of two COVID-19 vaccinations, hold a current Driver’s Licence and will be required to satisfy a National Police Record Check (less than 12 months old) and possess a Victorian Working with Children Clearance.

A six-month probationary period applies to this role.
