Role Summary/Purpose:
Synchrony is seeking a highly motived VP, Digital Forensics Investigator to join the Insider Risk Management Team. This individual will join a people first culture and an organization that is led by innovation. This role will be primarily responsible for developing a cloud investigations strategy that will enable our cloud journey. In addition, this individual will conduct highly sensitive investigations working with partners from Legal, Corporate Security and Human Resources, mature the eDiscovery program by driving efficiencies with cross functional business partners and partner with various data protection teams to enhance protections.

Essential Responsibilities:
Create and deliver on cloud investigations strategy and capabilities
Conduct internal investigations using cyber technologies
Conduct expert digital forensic investigations
Create detailed investigative s and briefings
Identify opportunities for process automation
Conduct employee interviews during investigations utilizing techniques to drive non-emotional factual dispositions
Perform remote and onsite evidence collection and preservation while applying industry best practices and chain of custody procedures
Elevate team by providing mentorship and guidance
Ensure forensic capabilities industry leading
Engage with members from Cloud Engineering, Joint Security Operations Center, and Cyber Intel Fraud
Drive automation in forensic collections in the Cloud
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
8-10 years of digital forensics and incident response experience
Expert level in conducting digital forensics and investigations in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Possess expert skills to collect, process, preserve and analyze data from electronic data sources to include laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and servers
Knowledge in common scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
Expert knowledge an AWS services
Expert knowledge in live digital forensics, log file analysis and network forensics
Demonstrated skills in analyzing Windows, OSX, iOS, Android operating systems
Expert knowledge in Incident Response processes
Demonstrated success in close working collaboration with cyber security, intelligence, HR, and Legal.
Expertise in conducting sensitive employee investigations.
Experience developing and communicating findings to non-technical business areas.
Experience using analytical skills and an ability to interpret established standards and guidelines to solve problems.
Excellent analytical ability, sharp attention to detail, creative problem solving, consultative skills, and innovation.
Certification(s) in Digital Forensics and Cloud (e.g., CFCE, CHFI, GCFA, AWS, GCFR, Azure, GCP)
Desired Characteristics:
Experience providing expert testimony in court

Must be comfortable effectively communicating intelligence to technical and non-technical audiences
Strong leadership skills and qualities which enable you to work with peers and various levels of management
Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is 100,000.00 – 200,000.00 USD Annual
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
