Sword Group Hiring for Finance Assistant Job at Aberdeen, Scotland Full Time

Our teams are supported by a central Finance function which provides financial reporting and business insight to allow our management teams to make informed commercial decisions.

To support continued growth, we are looking to strengthen our Finance team with the appointment of a Finance Assistant who will manage a range of responsibilities for one of our key businesses.

Purpose Of Role:

Responsible for all aspects of the company’s day to day accounting function.

Main contact point for the groups central services team to ensure HR and HSE policies are upheld.

Business support, production and analysis of key figures in order to assist the local management team.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Updating accounting records including,
• Recording of supplier invoices and creation of supplier payments,
• Creation of sales invoices and allocation of customer receipts,
• Posting of all bank transactions and creation of bank reconciliations,
• Creating high level cashflow forecasts to ensure future cash availability,
• Credit control and escalation of any payment issues to management team.

Payroll:

• Liaison with central HR team to ensure details of new joiners and leavers are communicated in a timely manner,
• Transmission of payroll information to third party payroll provider. (Joiners, leavers, salary changes),
• Provision of information to third party payroll provider for year-end declarations.

Reporting Requirements:

• Production of month end management accounts according to tight group deadlines,
• This incorporates the production of a revenue report driven by time sheet records and the production of a cost report and analysis of the above to identify any unexpected differences,
• Production of month end balance sheet reconciliations and posting of month end journals relating to the release of prepayments, fixed asset depreciation, recording of accruals, WIP and deferred revenue journals etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in accounting, business, finance or a related field,
• Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
