We believe that radical innovation in internet-connected technology can ensure that every resident, every day, is living in a home that allows them to succeed. That’s why our products are built not just on great technology, but on an understanding of what people want from the space they live in.
This approach led us to reimagine the most mundane household object, a thermostat, into a product that automatically reduces energy bills, looks great and offers control to those who want it. We are also revolutionising the way social landlords manage their housing stock with an obsessively tailored SAAS property dashboard and handy alerts on things like when the boiler is going to break.

Our journey
We may be only 6 years old, but it’s already been quite a ride. Our first product, the connected Switchee thermostat is already in 75 of the UK’s biggest housing providers.
We’re growing 100% year on year and are backed by some of the best-known investors in technology and social impact. We are a small team of 27 passionate and ambitious people driven by a collective desire to make a positive impact in the housing sector, both for residents and landlords.
We are looking for a motivated individual to be an essential part of our team and look after all things Finance in the business.
Your responsibilities
As a Finance Manager, you will take ownership of our financial reporting and processes. Your insight allows you to continuously improve our financial reporting systems, processes and controls.
Strong attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset is a must with good problem-solving skills. You will own our entire financial process including monthly management reporting, stock and payroll (recently outsourced).
You are a vital part of the company’s administrative processes particularly taking care of our EMI scheme, cash flow management, debt recovery, and forecasting. You will also support our audit, budgeting and fundraising activities.
We are looking for a self-motivated Financial Manager that will analyse everyday financial activities and subsequently provide advice and guidance to the Senior Leadership Team on future financial plans.
We are a company built on a strong technical foundation. You will need to grasp and effectively manage a range of data sets, technology platforms and organisational complexity. Most importantly you will need initiative and drive as you will be our operational finance leader.
Switchee has independently audited accounts and you will lead on the audit for Switchee and maintain our financial reporting so that it passes independent scrutiny.
Who You Are

Proven experience as a Financial Manager in an independantly audited business
Proficient user of finance software (Xero a plus)
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics beneficial but not required
Professional qualification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus
Experience of hiring and managing a small team would be a bonus but not required
