Swinburne University of Technology Hiring for Technician (Biomedical and Clinical Sciences) Job at Melbourne Full Time

As the Technician (Biomedical and Clinical Sciences) you will provide a high level of technical support within the dedicated laboratories to students both Undergraduate and Postgraduate as well as Academic and Research staff within the School of Health.

You will play a key role in advising the Team Leader (Health Sciences) and the Manager Technical Services (Health) on matters concerning required purchases of new equipment and laboratory consumables. The Technician (Biomedical and Clinical Sciences) will employ laboratory skills including the use, maintenance and calibration of specialized biomedical, clinical and wet lab equipment. Working closely with the Team Leader (Health Sciences), Manager Technical Services (Health), and intradisciplinary academic staff you will ensure appropriate training and support is provided for all laboratory and clinical requirements.

About you
To be suitable for the role, you will have:

• A relevant degree in biomedical science, clinical technologies or another related health discipline or equivalent experience
• Experience in the procurement, operation and maintenance of a wide range of biomedical and clinical technology equipment
• Well-developed word processing, spreadsheet and database skills. Familiarity with the use of propriety software for laboratory or clinical equipment and systems
• Proficient understanding of occupational health and safety and other statutory and reporting requirements relevant to clinical and teaching environments
