Swinburne University of Technology Hiring for Tax and Financial Accountant Job at Melbourne Full Time

We are seeking a highly driven individual to join us and provide support to the Tax and Treasury Manager through several tax related tasks including the preparation of GST and FBT returns, period end tax updates and management of tax related queries from staff and students.

As the Tax and Financial Accountant you will also manage the operational activities relating to the University’s Investment Portfolio, including completing administrative forms and recording movements into the Finance enterprise system. As a natural collaborator you will work closely with other members of the Financial Control Team in order to create and foster an agile and truly capable Financial Control Team.

About you

To be suitable for the role you will have:

• Degree in Business, Commerce or equivalent majoring in Accounting with at least substantial relevant experience.
• Demonstrable tax experience including technical understanding of GST, FBT and income tax
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of financial accounting and financial systems.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills occasionally adapting procedure to fit policy prescription combined with the ability to generate practical and effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven ability to establish and maintain multiple relationships to a high level of effectiveness, engendering confidence from a wide range of stakeholders.
