ALL ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Product Development Manager and working closely with the Production Team, the Production Assistant orders, tracks, and organizes samples and trims from various suppliers as part of developing and designing garments. The role is also responsible for organizing large amounts of data into various electronic and physical databases and libraries to help the team remain organized and efficient, ultimately supporting the effort to hit deadlines and bring garments to market as per the seasonal launch plan.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY DUTIES
Coordinate the ordering of samples from suppliers, track the details for each inbound shipment while keeping the team informed of its status, and proactively connect with team members to prompt necessary follow-up action
Measure and evaluate construction and quality of samples, providing feedback (in a format this is ready to share with suppliers)
Create and maintain a fabric profile library by organizing samples and the results lab and in-house testing for easy referencing and supplier identification
Maintain garment scorecards for each product to record quantitative data and ensure specifications and requirements are met
Assist the team identify potential suppliers and coordinate the ordering of samples to support product development efforts
Maintain an organized filing system for all incoming samples and trims
Research and collect factory profile data from potential and existing suppliers, updating the database with relevant information
Update the product management system with data gathered from quality control checks, and from team members
Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of experience in an administrative support role, and minimum 1 year of industry experience (either garment manufacturing or administrative support in a fashion-related company)
Intermediate Microsoft Office application skills, including Excel and Outlook
Data entry and Cloud-based software experience (ideally in an ePLM platform such as ClickUp)
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Experience in the fashion industry a definite asset, whether in production or in an administrative support function
Proactive and resourceful, and a natural team player who sees the value of sharing information
Results-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced and fluid work environment
Self-motivated and able to meet tight deadlines
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday , 7am to 3pm in our Kelowna office
