Take the lead as a Front End Staff Engineer, influencing and making an impact in a highly technical engineering culture. Be pivotal in shaping the future of our front-end web, which powers over $1.2bn in transactions annually.

Located in Sydney, we’ve transitioned from a start-up to a scale-up. Our platform, a lightning-fast, feature-rich web app, serves as both a marketplace and a cloud-based payments and ordering SaaS solution. With $1.2bn traded on our platform each year, we’re leveraging AI to deliver rich data insights, enhancing the value we offer to our customers.

We use React, Typescript, Node, GraphQL, PostgreSQL & AWS Lambda.

About You

You’re a seasoned Senior Front End Engineer at the top of your game. Driven by a desire to make an impact, you relish in coaching and providing direction, as well as implementing new technologies. We’re keen on migrating to Tailwind, refining our FE data-fetching techniques, and recognise there’s room for improvement in our FE infrastructure and architecture, as well as scope for evaluation of new FE tools & frameworks.

Collaboration is in your nature; you flourish in an environment that emphasises ownership and values coaching.

Must-Have

Skills and Experience

  • Over 5 years in a FE role, building and architecting modern consumer-facing web applications.
  • Solid understanding of the web, with a foundational knowledge in JS, CSS, HTML, web mechanics, and browsers.
  • Proficiency in modern TypeScript with React/Next (Functional components, hooks).
  • Expertise in front-end tooling and architecture.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (we use AWS serverless)
  • Experience in leadership and mentoring.
  • Server-side TypeScript Node.js experience
  • A significant presence in community or open-source domains.
