Your starting salary as a graduate will be £29,291 per annum based on a 36-hour working week. This rises steadily on passing successive parts of the CIPFA qualification, to a salary of circa £36,282 on becoming fully qualified.
Our graduate programme enables you to develop the practical and strategic skills required to become a public finance professional. Focusing on continuous personal and professional development through a variety of challenging finance and accounting placements, whilst studying for the internationally respected Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (CIPFA) professional qualification. The only accountancy body exclusively dedicated to public financial management.
During your training programme you will be given opportunities to experience a range of work covering every aspect of financial management including:
You should have a desire to work in the public sector and be able to consider the complexities of working in a Local Authority. You must be able to demonstrate team working and building relationships and have excellent communication skills. You will need to be confident with handling data and have the ability to analyse issues and identify solutions.
Minimum entry requirements are 2:1 undergraduate degree in any discipline or demonstration of academic ability up to the standard of a 2:1 undergraduate degree. Also, GCSE Maths and English level 4 or grade C and above (or equivalent alternative).
