We are seeking Early Childhood Teachers and Educators to join our team. Your dedication and experience will ensure the provision of a high quality kindergarten program that will meet the approved learning frameworks and National Quality Standards. Permanent Part time positions

Position 1
Early Childhood Educator (4YO) – Permanent Ongoing – Jan Juc Pre-School
17.75 hours per week
14 hours contact time (as below), plus 3.75 hours non-contact time (negotiable spread across the week)

Contact time
Monday: 9:00am – 3:00pm
Tuesday: 9:00am – 3:00pm
Wednesday: 9:00am – 12:00pm

Position 2
Early Childhood Teacher (4YO) – Permanent Ongoing – Kurrambee Myaring Kindergarten
21 hours per week
14 hours contact time (as below), plus 7 hours non-contact time (negotiable spread across the week)

Wednesday: 12:30pm – 3:30pm
Thursday: 9:00am – 3:00pm
Friday: 9:00am – 3:00pm

Early Childhood Teachers

Key Selection Criteria – Mandatory Requirements and Experience:

• Degree or equivalent in Early Childhood Education as approved by AQECQA
• A current level ll first aid qualification, including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma.
• A current Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration
• Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate a quality Kindergarten program.
• Demonstrated organisational, planning and prioritising skills to ensure the efficient delivery of outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to adopt an innovative, flexible approach to the provision of children’s services.
• Demonstrated ability to provide positive leadership and contribute towards the development of a productive team culture in a diverse staff team.
• Excellent skills in verbal and written communication with children, staff and the wider community.
• Ability to identify Health and Safety issues pertaining to the work environment.
• Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council). A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Early Childhood Educators

Key Selection Criteria – Mandatory Requirements and Experience:

• Minimum of a Certificate lll in Children’s Services from an approved training organisation as approved by ACECQA. Diploma qualification required for Position 8
• Demonstrated experience working with children and families.
• Experience in assisting in the development and implementation of an educational program.
• Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and an understanding of how this impacts on daily practice.
• Excellent skills in verbal and written communication with children, staff and the wider community.
• Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with all staff.
• Ability to manage risks and identify health and safety issues pertaining to workplace.
• A current level ll first aid qualification, including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma (or ability to undertake before start date)
• A current Working with Children Check.
• Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council). A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia
