Superior Hardwood Design Hiring for Operations Manager/Partner Full Time

Superior Hardwood Design (SHD) is a Minnesota based LLC that is one year old That just moved into a newly remodeled 4000sqf warehouse. SHD mills and dries its slab inventory. Our current revenue streams are hardwood slab and custom table sales. We currently offer a collection of tables (Coffee and transition office and dining).

SHD is seeking an expert level Furniture Maker for a position as Operation Manager/Partner. The position would include design, crafting, necessary staffing, wood inventory management and knowledge of working with epoxy. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, organized, effective manager and a team player with strong communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Able to handle crafting operations independently (i.e., cutting shaping, sanding, measuring of woodwork.)

· Knowledge to operate tools and machinery safely.

· Ability to lead and assist others on projects.

· Able to manage and inspect wood inventory.

· The ability to operate a kiln.

· Good record keeping.

· Create and promote safety rules and work policies.

· Confident in taking on challenging projects and tasks.

· Expert in utilizing woodworking techniques and joinery.

· Work efficiently without supervision.

· Be accountable for the sequence of a job from start to finish.

· Able to glue independently.

· Assist in loading and unloading materials.

· Maintain and organize a clean work area.

Qualifications

· GED, high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

· 2+ years’ experience in woodworking shop preferred.

· Ability to pay high attention to details.

· Able to work independently if necessary and to identify and solve problems.

· Willingness to manage and teach woodworking skills.

· In-depth understanding of machine tools set up and use.

· Able to work safely and consciously with regards to yourself and fellow workers

· Willingness to further train as well as teach woodworking skills.

· In-depth understanding of machine tool set up and use.

Working Conditions

· This position is full time.

· Hours of operations are flexible.

· Must be able to wear and use safety equipment.

· Ability to commute to St Louis Park 55426

· Reliable transportation required.

Income Range for Operations Manager/Partner

· Position compensation based on SHD profitability (Compensation 30-50%)

· Bi-weekly draw plus profit sharing
