Role Purpose

This role within the Healthcare Finance team at Superdrug is an exciting opportunity for someone wanting to gain a breadth of experience across a range of areas in Finance. The role reports into the Healthcare Finance Business Partner, joining a small team where you can make a real difference, building strong and close relationships with the Healthcare Teams.

The diverse Finance areas the role covers means this opportunity is ideal for someone who has the intention of studying towards CIMA or equivalent.

A typical day in this role includes:

• Providing support to the Healthcare Teams including Regional Healthcare Managers, Pharmacy Managers, Pharmacy Buying and the Healthcare Leadership Team.
• Responsibility for weekly / monthly business reporting on several areas including Prescriptions, Pharmacy NHS Services, Pharmacy Scorecards and Healthcare Profitability, helping to drive performance in these areas.
• Managing month-end processes, including financial accounting for Pharmacy Income streams, Pharmacy Costs and reconciliations of balance sheets.
• Business Partnering for 4 cost centers, including the Healthcare Director, Head of Healthcare Operations and the Pharmacy Superintendent, with cost center management of actuals and reporting on any variances.
• Support monthly production of the Pharmacy P&L’s.
• Sharing ad-hoc insight and analysis from a variety of data sets, including at weekly and monthly conference calls, helping enhance performance across the Healthcare Business.
• Assisting the Healthcare Finance Business Partner with the production of annual and quarterly Budgets and Forecasts for Healthcare.
• Providing ad-hoc support to wider Finance function and the Healthcare Leadership Team.

What you’ll need:

• Intermediate/advanced excel skills and wider PC literacy.
• Experience in Financial Month End processes such as cost centre management, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations highly desirable.
• Financial experience from a Retail or Healthcare background in a medium or large company desirable.
• Self-starter and able to work independently, with track record of picking up new areas quickly.
