SCHOOL BUS / VAN TRANSPORTATION DRIVER
Glastonbury, CT
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Access Transportation, a division of Sunrise Transportation Company, is looking to add safe and friendly school bus drivers to help transport our Special Education students to and from school. No experience is needed for this position, we will train and teach you to become a licensed and certified Driver! We are not only looking for amazing Drivers who will help us in the mission to move our children forward but want someone who wants to move their career!
What we’ll trust you with:
- Driving a van or large-sized vehicle to transport students safely and in a courteous manner
- Picking up and dropping off students using a route sheet or GPS unit
- Performing pre-trip/maintenance according to the state’s general standards
- Completing DVIR manual daily and ing any defects
- Other duties as needed to get the work done successfully
What matters most for this role:
- You have a strong knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area
- You possess a valid driver’s license for 3 continuous years and are in good standing.
- Ability to train and pass a company road evaluation, background check, and drug screening
- Proficient at using or willing to learn how to operate a wheelchair lift or necessary equipment
- Have the willingness to work in a diverse organization with many high-pressure situations
- You are a quick learner and have professional written and oral communication skills
