_Primary Function: _
_ _ Oversee and direct the day-to-day activities in the accounting, finance, and administration (office management) areas. Complete month-end and year-end activities including financial reporting, taxes, budgeting and banking/cash management. Assist Senior Managers / Owners in developing and executing business plans and new business opportunities. Direct the Invoicing, A/P, A/R, and Grower Accounting areas.

_Minimum Qualifications: _
_ _ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and minimum of 5-7 years applicable work experience. Other essential skills include management or supervisory experience and communication and organizational skills. Minimum computer skills include working knowledge of computers, word processing applications and various other software programs. Extensive knowledge of spreadsheet applications is required. The ability to manage multiple areas with a wide range of duties is important. Experience in agriculture and/or farm accounting is a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Management of the grower accounting, inventory, invoicing, A/R, and A/P functions: * *

_ _* o Directly supervise accounting clerk. *
_ _* o Manage company credit card activities and auditing T&E’s, delegating some activities to accounting clerk as appropriate. o Manage all farm accounting activities. *
_ _ o Manage Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cost Accounting and Inventory processes in FAMOUS (accounting/sales software).

• Credit & A/R Oversight:

*

• Assist sales team with new customer set up. This includes reviewing new customer requests, researching and approving new customer forms with the proper credit limits.
• Manage any customer and credit problems, PACA claims, and collection issues; continuing to work with the sales team through these issues.
• Maintain customers and price lists in FAMOUS.

* * Banking and Cash Management:

• Daily balance reporting with multiple bank accounts.
• Monitor line of credit balance and manage cash needs.
• Project cash flow for operations and as needed for banking relationship.
• Verify and record monthly interest income and expense.
• Manage the annual renewal of line of credit.
• Monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts.
• Manage banking relationships and submit any required reporting as needed.
• Financial:

• Review and approve all month-end and year-end ledger entries.
• Monthly financial reporting including income statement, balance sheet, volume and gross profit reports, actual vs. budget reports, capital spending and analysis reporting.
• Reconcile and/or approve all balance sheet accounts.
• Provide financial projections to management and board members as needed.

• Year-end:

• Final entries and reporting for fiscal year-end.
• Lead the budgeting process, organizing the team and compiling the budgeting information for new fiscal year.
• Provide CPA firm with all necessary information to complete year-end review including balance sheet reconciliations, related party transactions, contract and lease agreements, and any schedules used in analysis.
• Provide CPA firm with all tax information including volume shipped to each state, rents, payroll, fixed assets, and other activity by state.
• Complete final tax reporting for federal and state (as supplied by CPA firm) to owners.
• Provide CPA firm with all necessary information to complete partner audit including journal entries, cash receipts, accounts payable invoices, related party transactions, contract and lease agreements, and any schedules used in analysis.
• Assist accounting clerk with 1099 reporting to vendors and IRS.
• Report all personal property to appropriate counties for assessment taxes.

• Manage all state registrations and reporting including sales/use tax, business licenses, agricultural bonds and audits.

• Provide support to Sr. Mgmt, Operations and Sales teams as needed:

• Work with President, General Manager, and VP of Operations of Sunrain to execute Sunrain strategy. o Indirectly oversees and assists other Sunrain office personnel with sales order entry, inventory issues, and making sure there is coverage in the office and telephones as necessary.
• Assist in evaluating new business opportunities, review contracts and agreements, and provide financial analysis as needed.
• Assist in hiring for the Sunrain team as needed.
• Specialized Seed Accounting:

• Company owned seed farms –Assist farm personnel in budgeting process. Manage the processing of all payables in Sunrain’s cost accounting system. Calculate the costs for various seed based on seed generation. Monitor seed inventories and on-going costs. Prepare annual profit/loss statement for the seed farm. Calculate replants values for next years crops. Provide analysis to Sunrain Sr. Mgmt.
• Oversee the accounting for contract seed growers and assist with the reconciliation of seed inventory for these locations.
• Oversee the calculation, reporting, and payment of seed and table royalties for license holders.
• Manage miscellaneous reporting to USPB, ASTA, PACA etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
