Suncorp Group Hiring for Software Test Engineer Job at Sydney Full Time

The Role

The Software Test Engineer works with the team to develop and provide guidance on how to integrate all types of testing throughout the Software Development Life Cycle ensuring that the quality of the solution and resulting test artefacts meet the defined needs and requirements in accordance with published standards.

The Software Test Engineer is responsible for driving and delivering automated testing frameworks based on industry best practice and principles. They are ultimately accountable for test quality and the end to end testing cycle of initiatives that ensure our delivery is best practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Active contribution and leadership in the QA community both internal and external to Suncorp
• Lead and execute testing strategies, process improvements and standards for deliverables
• Actively contribute to the analysis of business requirements, solutions and implementation decisions including contribution to acceptance criteria
• Work with the team to deliver both automated and manual tests
• Ensure the types of testing needed to produce quality software are automated
• Ensure the test data required for testing is produced automatically
• Raise, report and track risks and defects in accordance with Suncorp Agile principles
• Design, develop and implement frameworks that build quality, automation and security into Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration pipelines across the delivery lifecycle

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5+ years appropriate industry experience in a Software Test Engineer role
• Experience in various programming/scripting languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Python, etc.)
• Experience in adopting or implementing test automation frameworks
• Experience in the effective utilization of the technologies in our stack: Jenkins, Selenium/Webdriver, Cucumber, AWS, JMeter and Java
• Experience testing SOAP and REST APIs, using tools such as SOAPUI and Postman
• Excellent knowledge in the application of Agile and Lean approaches
• Certification such as ISTQB/CSTP or equivalent experience desired
