About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Software Engineer to work with a talented team in the Claims Domain. Your role is to provide systems analysis, design, development, maintenance & ongoing support for Suncorp’s Claims management applications. Your passion for delivering quality software will be rewarded, as will your contribution of fresh ideas to continuously improve our way of working.

Key Accountabilities

• Analyse system requirements and develop technical design
• Develop and maintains application software
• Conform to quality assurance standards and agreed processes within the department
• Support the application software by analysing and fixing problems as required
• Perform unit and integration testing on developed code
• Work with testers using ATDD principles and instrument test as required
• Produce thorough and effective unit and system test plans and participate and/or support further testing phases
• Support initiatives that align to the strategic direction of the Claims Technology domain
• Provide technical advice to the business customers on business opportunities
• Provide input to or develop business systems solutions, estimates and specifications
• Assist with investigations into potential solutions, liaise with relevant technical experts and contribute to solution design and costing
• Utilise agile methodologies where appropriate in your work
• Mentor other team members by reviewing their output and accept responsibility for the quality and timeliness of the team’s deliverables

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience supporting high availability production systems is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience with Agile SDLC on projects
• Experience in Cloud Technologies is favourable
• Strong analytical, design and consultative skills
• Strong programming skills
• Proven Testing skills and ATDD or Behavioural Driven Development
