As the Finance Manager your purpose is to improve the Suncorp Group’s performance by leading Finance Business Partnering for People, Culture & Advocacy, Risk, Legal & Secretariat, Finance & Advice, and CEO. You will provide specialist financial advice and insight to support the achievement of business plans.

About the Role

• Provide financial advice and insight to support the achievement of business plans.
• Deliver an accurate and timely monthly close process across BAU and Project spend.
• Provide financial analysis, proactively highlighting and driving resolution of business performance issues and opportunities.
• Develop annual budgets for the BAU cost base.
• Develop monthly forecasts for the BAU cost base.
• Ensure project forecasts are robust.
• Ensure the logic behind expense allocations are robust and transparent.
• Provide expert financial advice / modelling on proposed projects / business cases.
• Proactively identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and automation of finance processes and analytical tasks both onshore and offshore.
• Contribute to development of understanding of the external environment, particularly as it relates to benchmarking vs competitors.
• Mentor / coach the team

What you need to bring to the role

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting (or similar) – Mandatory
• Professional qualifications from the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA), Certified Practising Accountants Australia (CPA) – Desired
• Significant experience within a medium to large financial services organisation
• Extensive business experience across a variety of business areas at an operational and strategic level
• Experience in being part of a senior leadership team within the financial services sector
• Proven track record of thought leadership and change management
• Proven track record in managing relationships with multiple stakeholders
