Finance Analyst

• Support the Suncorp Consumer finance management team through provision of quality financial support, information and business advice

As the Finance Analyst, you will provide support to the Consumer portfolio team through provision of quality financial information and business advice that facilitates sound business decision making. The team is also accountable for analysis, reporting and processes across the Insurance portfolios.

Key Accountabilities

• Support the Consumer finance team in the development and preparation of monthly/quarterly P&L results commentary, forecasting and planning in addition to long-term financial models and other analysis to drive new initiatives
• Collaborate with our partners to develop integrated solutions to the information needs of the Portfolio
• Analyse recent performance and trends including monitoring and developing relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), to measure and monitor returns
• Organize and evaluate quantitative data to identify and explain trends, problems, and root causes
• Develop and maintain financials models with sensitivity analyses around internal and external factors ensure they support overall business objectives
• Prepare executive level presentations and communications with logical reasoning and data support

Skills and experience

• 3+ years’ experience within a financial services organisation
• Understanding of financial and business systems (e.g. TM1, Oracle / PeopleSoft, Cognos)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Think-Cell
• High attention to detail – Manage data to be accurate, timely and accessible
• Communicate information in a clear, well-organized, and professional manner
• High degree of financial acumen and awareness of financial responsibility
• Strong working knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
• Knowledge of consumer products and concepts relating to the insurance industry is preferred
