What You Can Expect

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Sun Health, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care to our residents. Your major tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Following assigned duties and schedules, ensuring all special events and extra duties are addressed
• Responding promptly to call lights and providing assistance as needed
• Taking vital signs and performing requested tasks
• Assisting residents during meal times according to the schedule
• Charting required information accurately
• Attending staff and in-service meetings annually
• Assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Practicing aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of disease and infection
• Observing residents’ physical condition, emotions, reactions, and ing any changes
• Maintaining and renewing certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant

Your Shift Responsibilities

Day Shift:

• Providing morning care to residents, including hygiene and dressing
• Assisting with meals and activities
• Turning and attending to bedfast residents
• Providing bathroom assistance regularly
• Following the care plan for each resident

P.M. Shift

• Assisting with activities and meal preparation
• Helping residents with dinner and nighttime routine
• Providing necessary grooming and personal care
• Turning bedridden residents regularly
• Performing tasks as assigned by Charge Nurse

Night Shift

• Regularly checking residents every 2 hours
• Assisting with incontinent residents and bathroom needs
• Turning immobile residents regularly
• Following instructions from Charge Nurse
• Cleaning equipment and wheelchairs as assigned

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain
• Negative tuberculosis test results within the past 6 months preferred
• AZ Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain
• Food Handler card or ability to obtain
