POSITION OVERVIEW

Summit Materials is looking for a Lead, Talent Acquisition Partner to join our South Region TA team. This role acts as a key contributor and regional lead of a small TA team who will partner with hiring managers and extended HR team creating recruiting strategies to meet the talent needs of the business. This individual is also a contributing member of the broader National TA Team and will support building common practices and engage in multiple TA projects as we continue to build out the TA Center of Excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partner with TA Team and hiring managers to understand staffing and talent needs.
• Own the requisition build out and assigning process for the regional team.
• Actively support salaried recruitment within the regional footprint, owning up to 10-15 requisitions regularly.
• Develop and manage talent pipelines by using proactive sourcing strategies such as social media, job postings, job fairs, internal databases, networking, etc.
• Leverage technology to build candidate pipelines; screen candidates and streamline the hiring process.
• Works with extended HR team members to ensure that jobs and open headcount are accurately documented, classified and priced appropriately.
• Promote a positive manager and candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, and communicate as appropriate with candidates and hiring managers on the status of the process.
• Conduct regular follow-up with managers, meet established key benchmarks for measuring effectiveness of recruiting efforts, and complete and review recruiting s with key leaders in each Line of Business.
• Serves as subject matter expert on all recruiting systems and technology; facilitate training for managers, to include the Applicant Tracking Tools (ATS)
• Support and build a team culture within the TA and HR space, aligning growth and development of the function as a whole as well as the localized direct s.
• Travel to and from job sites to be present for meetings, show-up to connect with managers, learn the business + roles and responsibilities of key roles by spending time on work or plants sites regularly.
• Connects with the business in-person, via virtual calls, on a regular basis to ensure operational focus throughout the TA COE.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 5+ years of recruitment or HR experience preferably in a corporate environment
• Experience using an ATS and adhering to recruiting process and data tracking
• Ability to partner with hiring managers in a collaborative way to achieve shared outcomes
• Previous experience recruiting a range of positions from college grads to front line field operators and professional drivers preferred
• Must thrive in working in a dynamic team environment
• Experience in the construction, construction materials, or commercial driving industry is ideal
• Experience leveraging social media to engage candidates
• Experience building diverse candidate pipelines and engaging underrepresented candidates
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (primarily within South Region footprint)
