The Sultan School District is one of the larger geographical school districts in the Puget Sound area, consisting of approximately 325 square miles. Sultan School District has approximately 2,000 students enrolled K-12. Students are currently served by two elementary schools, a middle school, a high school and an alternative high school; and the Sno-Isle Skills Center, a cooperative vocational technical school.

Located northeast of Seattle (seven miles east of Monroe) or about 20 minutes from the Woodinville area, Sultan is surrounded by a beautiful environmental setting. Our “backyard” is the scenic Skykomish River and Cascade Mountains. Sultan School District includes the community of Sultan, Startup, and Gold Bar. Students from Index attend Sul- tan High School.

The Sultan School District is seeking enthusiastic teacher applicants with Career and Technical Education certification OR the ability to become conditionally certificated. The successful applicant will teach high school CTE classes with that might include: on Welding, Horticulture, Ag-Science, Construction and Woodworking Technology, Green Sustainable Design and Technology, Agricultural Mechanics and Aquaculture to foster student success in the workforce. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Teach skills and appropriate learning activities in areas such as drafting and woodworking to secondary students
• Cause successful learning.
• Promote academic confidence in students.
• Assure that classroom practices align with best practices for teaching math in the 21st century.
• Align all classroom instruction with the CCSS.
• Prepare lessons that reflect adaptation for individual student differences (differentiation).
• Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, board policies, and administrative regulations.
• Provide various learning approaches for meaningful learning experiences.
• Use effective instructional methods and strategies from scientifically-based research to strengthen core academic subjects . Familiarity with the 5D framework and evaluation rubric is helpful.

Required Qualifications

• Current Washington State Career and Technical Education Certificate with endorsements in Ag Ed or the ability and willingness to become conditionally certificated by September 1, 2022.

• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with potential classes such as Woodworking, Construction Tech, Ag- science, Horticulture and Welding or a willingness to take training in specific areas if applicant does not have experience these areas.

• Current First Aid/CPR or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
• Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance
• I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act
