SullivanCotter Hiring for DevOps/Infrastructure Manager – Remote/Flex Full Time

The DevOps/Infrastructure Manager leads and supports SullivanCotter’s enterprise IT Operations and Security team to release and secure application code using the modern best practices of DevOps/DevSecOps.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Lead the development, implementation and refining of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Lead implementation and automation of security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation.
• Lead the design, management, and maintenance of tools to automate operational processes.
• Support engineering efforts by leading the DevOps/Infrastructure team, providing tools and automation.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to manage multiple AWS and Azure environments.
• Create automated release processes for infrastructure.
• Ensure site reliability and respond to irregularities.
• Lead support of non-cloud technologies and third-party vendor products/services.
• Assess emerging technologies, stay abreast of industry trends, and advise on investments prices versus performance.
• Oversee infrastructure team to design and develop detailed architecture models for test, development, and production environments.
• Lead system and application migration(s) to the cloud, adhering to technical and business requirements.
• Work closely with cloud developers and security architects to engineer and deliver on-premise and cloud infrastructure solutions – on time and above expectations.
• Lead the development of technical artifacts, including detailed technical design, cloud architecture plan, services description documents, etc.
• Provide Technical and Operational Governance across the computing environment.
• Plan and develop support processes that adhere to best practices (ITIL).
• Optimize the cost of cloud solutions by identifying waste and automating cloud cost management.
• Lead support of non-cloud technologies and third-party vendor products/services.
• Assess emerging technologies, stay abreast of industry trends, and advise on investments prices versus performance.
• Lead the team to ensure highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments.
• Provide work direction to ensure the service provided by a managed service provider(s) is delivered against agreed SLAs or statements of work.
• Develop and maintain scripts, libraries and CI/CD pipelines to automate and improve quality in deployment activities.
• Supervise an Infrastructure Architect III and three Tarmac contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science degree in an applicable field, preferably Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience, including scripting, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), AWS, Linux, CI/CD, and Git.
• Proven experience with Agile development processes that make use of multiple cloud environments.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or similar IaC toolsets.
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or similar.
• Experience with AWS services, including ECS/Fargate, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, CodeBuild, S3, Route 53, API Gateway, etc.
• Experience with containerization theory, methods, and tools like Docker, Buildah, etc.
• Experience with container runtime platforms like Kubernetes, ECS, OpenShift, or similar is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Continuous Integration tools, Azure DevOps preferred, but GitHub actions, GitLab, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc. will do.
• Experience with monitoring platforms like DataDog.
• In-depth understanding of cloud-based networking, VPCs, gateways, etc.
• Experience working in Agile teams and frameworks.
