TITLE: Mathematics Teacher, Alternative Education – REMOTE WORK

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Diem Substitute – Temporary

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students in the Alternative Education Program.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide direct instructional support to students in a positive environment.
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining an environment conducive to learning for all students.
• Meet with parents to discuss their student’s progress and to determine priorities for their children and their individualized educational needs.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports on students and activities, as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
• Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students
• Provide direction, supervision and evaluation of educational assistants as directed.

Remote work position

Up to six classes needed for the following:

Algebra 1A : Regents course

Algebra 1B: Non Regents

Geometry: Non Regents

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certified Teacher, Mathematics 7-12

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $20.00 – $40.00 per hour
