The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong customer service, analytic and organizational skills to serve as Administrative Specialist 2 in the Judicial Education & Performance Unit. The work of the Judicial Education & Performance Unit is dynamic, fast paced, and multi-faceted, and calls for administrative staff to be organized, detailed oriented, proactive and flexible. Attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness as well as having strong information management skills and customer service skills are essential components of the position.
Note: This position may qualify for remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access. This program does not supersede the “New Jersey First Act”, which requires newly hired Judiciary employees to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
Effective August 20, 2021, the New Jersey Judiciary will require all state court judges and staff to provide to Human Resources either (1) proof of vaccination against COVID-19; or (2) results of weekly tests for COVID-19. This information will be maintained in a secure Judiciary application that will be accessible by a limited group of Human Resources staff.
Example of Duties:
The qualified individual will, among other tasks as assigned by the supervisor and/or Unit management:
* Engage with a variety of faculty (judges as well as national and international experts) to coordinate virtual and in person judicial education events
* Work collaboratively with all event partners to ensure a successful virtual or in person training event
* Create and manage an evolving inventory of Judge training materials including coordination of on-line postings and distribution through appropriate means
* Administer the unit’s CLE program including entries to the provider CLE accreditation system, updating and maintaining accurate judge training transcripts, and issuing CLE certificates for each judicial training event statewide
NOTE: This dynamic position does require travel to training event venues throughout the state.
NOTE: Proficiency in the following is desired: MS Office Suite, including MS Access and Excel
Salary range is $46,265.00 – $72,007.62. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Substitution:
Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An Associate’s degree and two (2) years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
Residency Law:
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), also known as the “New Jersey First Act,” all persons newly hired by the Judiciary must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
