Suburban Rail Loop is a city and state-shaping project that will transform Victoria’s public transport system, connecting Melbourne’s suburbs and creating opportunities in great places. The 90-kilometre Suburban Rail Loop will link every major rail line from the Frankston line to the Werribee line, via the airport, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other. The project will trigger investment and renewal in the neighbourhoods associated with new stations. It will be constructed in stages across several decades, with Stage One (Cheltenham to Box Hill) delivering twin 27 km tunnels. About the opportunity

The Specialist, Asset Accounting will support the Manager, Finance Operations and guide the broader Finance team on the development and management of the Suburban Rail Loop project asset financial accounting and compliance requirements, build strong relationships to ensure reporting and financial analysis meet stakeholder requirements. They will be responsible in developing and maintaining financial policies and work collaboratively with other members of the Finance team, manage end-to-end processes for asset accounting needs and project stakeholders to ensure the financial objectives for the Authority are achieved.

The Specialist, Asset Accounting is a highly-focused and resourceful person, with strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated experience in accounting and capitalisation for fixed assets in a medium to large complex organisation where project-based experience would be advantageous.
