Position: Staff Accountant – OPEN

Manager/Supervisor: Brian Strater-CFO

This position is one of the most important of accounting functions. Requiring close adherence to both timely processing and internal procedures/policies. In this business model workflow, special attention to detail is required for encodement of costs to a Designer Class with associated customer/project/product category hierarchy. This position is responsible for the following yet not necessarily exclusive accounting team functions for multiple business entities (currently Studio M Interiors LLC and Studio M Interiors LG – LLC):

• Daily Business Transaction Support:
• POS daily/monthly transaction reconcilement and posting to General Ledger
• Oversee output of A/R consultant with final client invoicing and accounts receivable questions/issues
• Oversee output of A/P and assisting with encodement
• Process credits and change order billings for builders/remodelers
• ACH and other electronic remittances
• Detect and report policy deviations to CFO

• Monthly Business/Finance Team support:
• Commission Calculation preparation and review with each designer
• Compilation of Financial Statements with CFO:
• Journal entry input (Recurring and Manual with documentation to support ME closing)
• Income Statement, Balance Sheet and other metric reports as assigned
• Balance sheet reconciliations

• Compliance with Internal Controls
• Sales/Use tax reporting and other regulatory filings as directed
• Assist CFO in Financial Forecasting

• Other Tasks as assigned
• Participate in workflow/systems improvements including training of team
• Assist in editing/updating Financial Forecast models/budget
• Participate on behalf of Accounting in the Physical Inventory process

Required Position Skill Set:

• Education/Training – Minimum 2 year of Accounting/Finance Degree
• Prefer 1-2 years of accounting/finance related experience
• Strong work ethic with desire to deploy process improvements and systems improvements
• Demonstrated ability to train team members and delegate tasks effectively
• Demonstrated ability to identify issues and take necessary action to resolve
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in accordance with generally accepted etiquette
• Highly organized and procedure oriented to complete tasks accurately and timely
• Proficient in MS-Office including Excel
• Proficient with Intuit QuickBooks (but not required)

Job Type: Full-time
