Located within the Town of Fuquay-Varina, Studio Five Dance Company (aka S5DC) is one of the most comprehensive local dance facilities. We have five beautiful studios and numerous styles on offer for students from ages two to adult.

To ensure classes are suitable for those who attend, we offer a range of options across styles, age groups and abilities. Whether you are aiming for a professional career, looking to stay fit or finally ready to give dance a try, we have a class for you.

The teachers at S5DC have a vast range of experience across disciplines. Our collective approach is to share our love of dance while being supportive and encouraging.

Job Description

Studio Five is looking for experienced tap and clogging dance teachers to join our current season. Summer classes may also be available. Over the past year, Studio Five has experienced great growth and more teachers are needed to support our variety of classes. We are providing preference to teachers with experience in Clogging, but will consider teachers with experience in other styles. Our teachers:

• Are capable of teaching multiple styles
• Willing to work with multiple levels of students, within the same class or being assigned classes of different levels
• Provide a strong foundation for the dancers to support all styles of dance
• Are interested in supporting the dancers as they grow through our programs
• Have a bubbly, fun personality and bring joy and excitement to the room
• Have a love of young children

Attributes and Qualifications

The appropriate candidate must have at least `1 year of teaching clogging and a strong clogging dance background. The candidate we are looking for must be interested in not just teaching classes, but also in choreography and running rehearsals.

We are looking for candidates who exemplify our values and standards:

• Must be able to build relationships amongst the students, families, and staff
• Must be willing to work with other staff to clean dances, run rehearsals, and choreograph large numbers
• Must have strong communication skills and organizational skills
• Must have a strong understanding of HOW to teach skills – not just how to do the skills
• We value choreographers who make dancers shine – showing off their strengths, not their weaknesses
• Punctuality for classes, turning in music and costume selections on time, attending required staff meetings, and assisting with our events and recital are required for all teachers

Our classes are hosted Monday – Friday from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Our classes are being held in-person.

Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
