Job Description

Maintenance Assistant

32 hours per week

• Assist with repairs as reported by tenants including electrical, plumbing, painting, joining and general maintenance
• Record jobs and repairs on a database as appropriate
• Assist with weekly checks and servicing of equipment including fire alarms and equipment, lifts etc.
• Performing maintenance turnarounds and checks of room in between tenancies. Ensuring all checks are detailed
• Assisting with PAT Testing portable electronic devices
• General upkeep of the landscaped garden area, car park and other external areas
• Maintain a good relationship (although not through fraternization) with tenants through the delivery of excellent customer service. Make an effort to get to know the residents by names and faces.
• Being able to work as part of a team and individually is essential.
• Assisting management team in ad hoc requests as appropriate especially at peak times such as move in and out period. This will require performing extra hours in addition to your contracted term
• Storage of equipment in appropriate manner in accordance with Health and Safety policy.
• Recording stock levels of maintenance equipment and ordering when replacement stock is needed.

• Maintaining inventory of equipment, performing regular checks to ensure safe operation and high standard of maintenance.

Overtime and additional hours will be expected throughout the summer months of August and September.

You will be reporting to the Student Castle Maintenance Technician and the Management Team.

Working days may vary.
