Stuart Alexander & Co Hiring for Commercial Analyst at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Full Time

Founded in 1884 and one of Australia’s largest privately-owned companies, Stuart Alexander & Co imports, markets and distributes premium and world-renowned brands throughout Australia. We are currently seeking a Commercial Analyst to join our Finance Team. The key focus of this role is to support our Commercial teams in managing collaboration, acting as the main point of contact for pricing-related queries and facilitating meetings to communicate pricing strategies.

By bridging the gap between financial control and commercial strategy, the Commercial Analyst will offer the data and insights necessary to optimise our pricing and promotional strategies, thereby driving our overall financial performance.

The Role

• Conduct financial analysis and review of P&L for new product developments (NPD), ensuring the financial viability of product launches.
• Perform regular trade spend analysis and support Commercial Business Partner to assess the effectiveness of trade promotions and identify opportunities for optimisation
• Conduct annual reviews with the Commercial Business Partner of terms and rebates to ensure they are competitive and contributing positively to the company’s financial performance.
• Prepare and present monthly financial and operational s to provide insights into pricing performance and trade spend effectiveness.
• Facilitate cross-functional teams for pricing-related queries from Sales, Marketing, and Product Development teams.

The Ideal Candidate

• At least 2+ years FMCG experience in similar role, with experience preferably gained within a Blue Chip business
• CA/CPA qualified or equivalent
• Strong communication skills with ability to build positive working relationships across all functions of the business
• Highly motivated individual who seeks continuous improvement and has a willingness to roll up sleeves and get involved in the detail across the team
• High level of attention to detail, numeracy and accounting understanding
• A system savvy individual who is highly capable in excel
