Responsibilities:
Responsible for placing and maintaining purchase orders within the ERP system ( JDE) to align material deliveries with production schedule;
Purchase materials to support production, maintenance, R&D and offices activities, including die/mold/tooling purchases or revisions to existing equipment;
Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders;
Track incoming purchase order receipts and take corrective action as required. Clearly communicate receipt dates that could affect operations;
Work with the supply chain team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products;
Reconcile discrepancies between supplier shipments & contractual obligations;
Utilize the JDE ERP system in the execution of the daily job requirements. Continually look for & suggest new methods for developing & making the system more effective & user friendly;
Coordinate return/disposal of waste and recycling materials;
Perform incoming inspection as needed and assist in the development of procedures for that purpose;
Work with Quality Assurance and suppliers on generating and processing RMA’s. Participate in corrective action requests.
Work with Trade and Import/Export Compliance to determine classification of products;
Review all inbound and outbound documentation and check for accuracy;
Manage manual commercial invoice requests and document generation for one-off shipments;
Work closely with Customer Service as well as Domestic and International Sales Teams and feed accurate information related to POWR products and logistics;
Support new market strategy and logistics planning;
Execute all Shipping & Receiving functions including physical activities in order to load, unload, sort, and pack incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare export documentation and arrange logistics, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Controlled Goods classified materials;
Track incoming purchase order receipts;
Participate in freight cost reduction initiatives that support company goals;
Manage inventory for the Vehicle Power operations;
Participate in the annual inventory activity;
Perform other duties and tasks as required by the Operations Manager.
Insure performance metrics are sustained, i.e. Health & Safety, Quality, Delivery, Costs and others, and work to implement corrective actions
Qualifications:
College degree or equivalent experience required
Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification required
Controlled Goods certification an asset (will be provided by Stryten if necessary)
5+ years of professional experience in Buying and/or Supply Chain Management
5+ years of freight experience for both domestic and international inbound and outbound freight; Knowledge in sourcing and purchasing materials, experience in raw material purchasing preferred.
Position requires someone who is self-motivated and proactive.
Experienced in a manufacturing environment and use in ERP operating software a plus.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Must be detail oriented, a quick learner, and a team player.
Proficiency with MS Windows, especially strong in Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with ISO
Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize duties in a shifting environment.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT (include physical requirements)
Office work environment, occasional warehouse environment
May have to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Some travel may be required between company facilities and third-party contract manufacturing.
